Top Level Domains

Websites on the internet have top-level domains. These top-level domains identify something about the website associated with it, such as its purpose, the organization that owns it, or the geographical area where it originates.

There are two main types of top-level domains - generic and country code. The top-level domain of higher education websites is typically edu and websites from Canada will have caas the top-level domain.

Google Site Search


With Google, you can search a top-level domain (edu or gov) or a specific website (concordiacollege.edu or bls.gov). You can do this by adding site: ________ (top-level domain or specific website) to the search box.
