CHEM 342 Organic Chemistry

CAS SciFinder-n does not show online access to older American Chemical Society journals but does provide a link out to the library catalog to the journal record. From the link out click on Check holdings in your library catalog which links to the journal title. Then browse through this record to find the holding summary. This will show years the library has in print for this title and give location for these print titles in the library building. Currently they are on 3rd floor south in the library.

1. Chose References - Author
   Author Last Name: Lin
2. Choose Publication Name
   Publication name: journal of Organic Chemistry
3. Choose Publication Year
   Publication year: Enter 1961 for each field 
4. Click on search
   There should be 3 references
5. Click on one of the articles
6. Click on Check Holdings in your Library Catalog
   Notice online links to not include the year 1961.
7. The first results is the journal record not the article.
8. Scroll down to the holdings summary
   Should shoe v.26(1961)-v.68(2003)
9. Go to the library location for the print.
   This is currently on the 3rd floor south of the library
10. Find the Journal of Organic Chemistry, look for the year, volume, issue and open to the article page.
